In our recent post, we explained the vast benefits of using email as a means of promoting your business and services. We also established that you can make good money simply by sending emails. We showed you how to do this.
But a major problem that perturbs most people is how they can build their email list for profitable interaction. So in this post, we shall consider how to build this with particular focus on the most productive steps.
Are you ready? Let’s do this.
Put out the sign-up sheet
This may seem archaic, but one of the fastest ways to build your email list is via physical contact. Everyday, we organise conferences, summits, open our stores and interact with people. Whether you’re at a trade show, community event or in your own storefront, collecting email addresses in person can be very effective. Simply put out a signup sheet and encouraging people to write down their details, including their email addresses.
Optimize your website for opt-ins
Now this is the digital version of the sign-up sheet.
If a customer or prospective one visits your website, they’re already at least somewhat interested in what you have to offer. Don’t miss the opportunity to add them to your email list. Include email registration forms on every main page of your site, as well as on the pages for popular posts, products and services.
Leverage on Social Media
This should sound very familiar to you if you have read our recent article on making money through email sending. Social media participation can allow you to reach vast audiences and make new connections, and to also stay abreast of trending topics that are of interest to your customers and prospects.
Now you can use social media to encourage people to visit one of the channels where they can sign up for your email list. Sell valuable contents to them through this platform and ensure you invite them to your site or blog in the process.
Build with your blog
Your blog provides a great way to build a personal relationship with customers and prospects — and to gather their email addresses. Consistently end blog posts with a call to action that encourages readers to sign up for your email messages. Require blog visitors to provide an email list in order to leave comments, and set it up so that they have to actively opt out if they don’t want their email address included on your mailing list.

Don’t Forget your Own Email
Finally, be sure every email you send has an opt-in form so that anyone who receives one of your emails via forward from someone else, can sign up directly to be on your list.
So now you can build your email list for productive interaction. If you missed our first post on how to make profitable use of this list, click here.
